New York Sets Merch | WTT Tennis Team
The New York Sets were one of the foundational and most successful franchises of the original World Team Tennis (WTT) league, competing from 1974 to 1976 before rebranding as the New York Apples. Playing their home matches at the Nassau Coliseum and occasionally Madison Square Garden, the team captured the vibrant energy of the New York sports scene and became an instant powerhouse. Anchored by tennis icon and league co-founder Billie Jean King, the Sets featured a star-studded lineup that included talent like Sandy Mayer, Virginia Wade, and Phil Dent. The team reached the pinnacle of the league in 1976, capturing the WTT Championship by defeating the San Francisco Golden Gaters.
