Minnesota Buckskins Merch | WTT Tennis Team
The Minnesota Buckskins were a short-lived charter franchise in the inaugural 1974 season of the original World Team Tennis (WTT) league. Playing their home matches at the Minneapolis Auditorium, the team brought the league’s innovative, fast-paced co-ed format to passionate Minnesota sports fans. Coached by fresh-faced player-coach and industry pioneer Butch Buchholz, the Buckskins roster boasted top-tier talent, including French star Francois Jauffret and marquee women's player Linky Boshoff. The team proved highly competitive on the court, fighting hard in a packed division and drawing enthusiastic local crowds. However, despite a promising start and solid community support, ownership faced rapid financial constraints in the league's experimental first year. Following the conclusion of the 1974 season, the franchise was sold and relocated to Indiana to become the Loves.
