Sea Port Cascades Merch | WTT Tennis Team

The Sea Port Cascades were a Pacific Northwest fixture in the original World Team Tennis (WTT) league, representing the Seattle-Tacoma region during the 1977 and 1978 seasons. Playing their home matches at both the Seattle Center Coliseum and the Tacoma Dome, the Cascades brought high-energy, co-ed professional team tennis to an enthusiastic Washington fanbase. Under the leadership of player-coach and Grand Slam champion Tom Okker, the roster featured exceptional talent, including prominent players like Betty Stöve, Brigitte Cuypers, and Erik van Dillen. Though the franchise was competitive and injected a fun, raucous, and fan-friendly atmosphere into the local sports scene, its journey was cut short when the original WTT league folded following the conclusion of the 1978 season, leaving the Cascades as a nostalgic, classic chapter in professional tennis history.
