The San Diego Toros were members of the North American Soccer League (NASL) for the league's inaugural 1968 season. The Toros finished in first place and made it all the way to the championship where they lost to the Atlanta Chiefs. Unfortuantely, the team was not as successful at the gate, going under and closing down shop after the '68 season.
