The San Antonio Thunder played in the North American Soccer League only two season from 1975-1976. During its tenure in Texas, the team failed to make the playoffs, post a winning record, and draw more than 5,000 fans per game. Reportedly, the Thunder sustained financial losses of over half a million dollars during the two seasons.

After the 1976 season, it did not come as much of a surprise when the team announced that it was moving to greener pastures in Hawaii, as the Thunder had previously been quite loud about their desire to leave the lone star state. The San Antonio Thunder team colors are blue, red and white.
