Philadelphia Fury

The Philadelphia Fury played in the North American Soccer League (NASL) from 1978 until 1980. The 1978 NASL Season was a brutal one for the Fury, who were shutout a dozen times and setting a league record for going the longest without scoring a goal. Although they never had a winning record, the Fury qualified for the NASL playoffs in 1979 and 1980.

Amid low attendance figures and losing over $3M, the team was sold after the 1980 season to Molson Brewery, who relocated and rebranded them as the Montreal Manic. An interesting tidbit is musicians Mick Jagger, Peter Frampton and Paul Simon were all part of the Fury's original ownership group. The Philadelphia Fury team colors are Burgundy, Gold and White.
