Oakland Stompers

The Oakland Stompers first and only season was in 1978, which ended with a losing record and a failure to qualify for the playoffs. Prior to being sold and relocated, the team was known as the Connecticut Bicentennials. After the 1978 season, the franchise relocated to Edmonton, AB and rebranded to the Edmonton Drillers.

Interestingly enough, the Stompers drew approximately 12,000 fans per game during the 1978 season at the Coliseum, which was about 5,000 more than the Oakland A's MLB team. Suffice to say, this was not a banner year for fan interest in Oakland. The Oakland Stompers team colors are blue, burgundy, gold and white.
