The Baltimore Comets first appeared on the NASL horizon in 1974 and lasted for only two seasons which consisted of mediocre play and financial unrest. During the 1975 season the team was kicked out of Memorial Stadium for not paying rent and played the remainder of the season at Burdick Field on the Towson State University campus. Following the 1975 season, the Comets were sold and moved to San Diego, where they would rebranded as the Jaws, and would eventually become the Sockers.

The Baltimore Comets team colors: red, gold, white, black.
