The Boston Minutemen joined the North America Soccer League (NASL) in 1974 and had a short-lived run, lasting until 1976. Even by NASL standards, where teams would come and go, three years was hardly much of a tenure. Plagued by plummetting attendance and poor play, the team folded after the 1976 season. The Minutemen's initial season of 1974 was their most successful, when the were defeated in the semi-finals by the Los Angeles Aztecs.
