Milwaukee Does were a trailblazing team in the Women's Professional Basketball League (WBL), based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Does played a pivotal role in the early history of women's professional basketball, notably hosting the league's inaugural game on December 9, 1978, against the Chicago Hustle at the MECCA Arena (now UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena). Despite their short existence and lack of competitive success, the Does, named as a nod to the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, contributed significantly to the foundation for future women's basketball leagues such as the WNBA.
