The team, based in Chicago, Illinois, played a significant role during the league's brief existence, leading the WBL in attendance each year, underscoring strong fan support. Their inaugural home opener against the Milwaukee Does on December 9, 1978, drew nearly 8,000 fans, with the Hustle winning 92-87.
